The Role

Lovevery is looking for a collaborative, creative, process-driven leader to grow and manage the company’s production team. The Senior Director, Production will build out the company’s video production capabilities, hiring a team of experts to create best in class content experiences (parent courses, app content, social videos and more) in the areas of child development and parenting.

The Senior Director, Production must be comfortable building structure and process, managing multiple projects at any given time, and over communicating with key stakeholders. Strong planning, budgeting and talent relation skills are a must.

This role will oversee all content-led video initiatives, and will partner with the company’s Creative Director, who will continue to oversee the creation of in-house marketing assets including, but not limited to, campaigns, photoshoots, etc. The two leaders will work collaboratively around budgeting, planning and managing some shared resources.

This leadership position reports directly to the Group VP, Content and Media, with partnership expected with the larger Lovevery leadership team. Location is flexible, but based in Los Angeles, CA or Boise, ID is a plus.


  • Develop business and strategic cases for talent investments and drive to decisions collaboratively with the Group VP, Content and Media, as well as the VP, User Experience and previously mentioned Creative Director.
  • Build out repeatable, scalable production processes, working with internal stakeholders and tools to align on goals and priorities. Must be over communicative every step of the way.
  • Build out in-office studio and ensure we have the appropriate equipment and systems in place in partnership with the Creative Director and in-house photography/videography team.
  • Responsible for managing yearly budget and strategically planning on quarterly basis with cross-functional teams.
  • Help build and maintain a database of freelance resources leveraged as a central resource for the company.
  • Report out on a regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence to key stakeholders, with a strong analytical approach and crisp communication style.
  • Manage and help develop the overall production strategy and related business results (revenue, brand awareness, quality of content), owning core activities.
  • Find opportunities for improvements to maximize productions so that content can serve multiple purposes, when appropriate.
  • Work with legal and human resources to manage contracts, invoices, payments and vendor relationships.
  • Help strategize how to approach, acquire and onboard talent.
  • Analyze, review and formulate a production framework. Evaluate new partners and own business requirements to succeed.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to build repeatable workflows and contracts around all things production.
  • Identify and coordinate the development of new resources and capabilities across internal teams to achieve production goals. Identify and communicate new market requirements through translating customer needs and competitive landscape.

Attributes required for success in this role

  • Experienced production leader - The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of how to structure and manage production teams, determining what mix of centralized full-time resources and project specific contract employees are appropriate at any given time. The production leader should have a rolodex of trusted production experts, and serve as an effective leader and mentor to production hires.
  • Strong communicator – Great candidates for this role are strong collaborators and communicators. While Lovevery has 200+ employees and healthy funding, our production efforts are in their infancy. The company needs a start-up-minded leader to build out the framework of the production team, and maintain a high standard of excellence in all content created.

About you

  • 10+ years of production management experience in a media, educational, or related company.
  • Successful track record of managing production teams in deadline-driven environments.
  • Professional and personal knowledge of the early childhood space, as well as an extensive understanding of industry trends and the key players in the competitive landscape.
  • Results oriented with strong execution, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with outstanding academic track record.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and dig deep to achieve goals.
  • Strong analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to turn detailed data analysis into useful strategic insight in order to drive adoption and make appropriate recommendations to the business. Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results.
  • Excellent cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong problem-solving and service orientation.
  • Flexibility to travel.
