About Lovevery

Lovevery is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer startup co-founded by successful serial entrepreneurs. Our customers are parents, and our mission is to help them feel confident they are giving their children meaningful development experiences in the critical early years of life. Taking a science-based approach, Lovevery products have won awards from Red Dot, Parents’ Choice, and NAPPA. TIME Magazine named The Play Kits subscription offering as one of the Best Inventions of 2018.

The Role

Lovevery is looking for a Senior Writer who has deep experience crafting strategic content for engaged audiences across digital and print channels, is an expert in early child development, and is excited to help us build the go-to early learning platform for parents of babies, toddlers, and young children.

The Senior Writer is responsible for ideating, researching, and writing content geared towards parents and caregivers. Strong reporting skills and fluency with academic studies and research are essential to ensure we meet our commitment to evidence-based developmental information and advice. Clinical experience or education in early childhood, or a strong network of experts in the field are preferred.

The ideal candidate empathizes with what new parents want and need, and understands their universe. They are a skilled storyteller who crafts language that not only conveys information but connects to a passionate audience. This combined with robust knowledge of early child development will enable them to create content that is thoughtful, credible, clear, and of service to Lovevery’s customers and prospects.

The Senior Writer is a self-starter who is eager to take on new projects and responsibilities, even when the path forward isn’t perfectly clear. They’re organized, communicative, and an active and positive collaborator. As a writer, they can handle multiple formats, from longform articles to short, easy to digest posts. Across the board, they put care into making each piece meet a high standard of excellence and are comfortable reviewing and revising work with our CEO.

  • Write content related to Lovevery's mission, and in our brand voice and tone, based on your own knowledge and thorough research for blog, app, and other channels as needed.
  • Consistently produce work that meets deadlines and a high quality standard.
  • Demonstrate savvy in writing for digital channels; the ability to consider how a user will experience content in an app vs. blog or print piece, and make editorial decisions based on that, is key.
  • Actively contribute expertise and ideas to the Content Team, whether developing individual article topics and overarching content themes, or proposing solutions to team processes and rituals.

Attributes required for success in the role

  • You love writing and can handle a high volume and tight deadlines. You appreciate the detail-oriented work and time it takes to revise a piece to a high quality standard.
  • You have clinical experience or education in early childhood, or a strong network of experts in the field.
  • You think parenthood and early childhood are inspiring topics to work on and have deep empathy for parents.
  • You’re a positive communicator and collaborator who demonstrates humility and flexibility with regard to feedback, edits, and shifting priorities.
  • You’re a proactive, resourceful self-starter; you're able to work relatively independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
