We are looking for an Internal Audit Manager reporting to the Controller. The Internal Audit Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the internal audit function to ensure compliance with management policies and current laws and regulations. This includes assessing risk management processes, guiding and communicating with Lovevery management, having a working knowledge of SOX 404 requirements ,and additional assignments as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop internal audit function including objectives, process design and scope; develop planning memorandums, documentation of walkthroughs and flow charts for key processes, development and execution of test procedures for key controls, discussion and documentation of issues, and report writing
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of the internal controls for the corporation globally and identify areas of deficiencies; recommend control enhancements to ensure company follows COSO best practices
  • Continuously review and document all internal controls over financial reporting, following public company best practices
  • Provide management with an independent and objective evaluation of the control environment
  • Lead quarterly risk planning meeting with internal management to ensure potential business risk and emerging trends are identified and the impact of planning and risk assessment is considered
  • Maintain on-going communication with business managers to follow-up on previously identified audit issues, as well as execution of testing to verify closure of previously identified audit issues
  • Liaise with external audit staff to ensure timely completion of annual financial audit
  • Examine, analyze and interpret accounting records to detect deficient controls, identify areas of non-compliance with management policies, laws, regulations, and fraud
  • Define and develop an integrated Sarbanes Oxley testing model to ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements
  • Work with information technology department to ensure SOC 2 compliance
  • Additional projects as required

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of risks, controls and audit concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have the ability to quickly learn specialized software or technical tools (ERP system)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate and present to internal/external stakeholders and all levels of management

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA/Master’s degree in Accountancy is preferred
  • Accounting or audit certification is preferred, CPA or CIA
  • Previous Big 4 public accounting or internal audit experience required
  • Previous experience in a public company environment required
  • Previous experience in eCommerce or subscription based business preferred
  • Strong understanding of internal auditing standards, COSO, and risk assessment practices
  • Strong understanding of current U.S. GAAP, PCAOB reporting standards, SEC, SOC2, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements, ICFR and FASB standards
